It’s official, Jordan Lloyd will join Monaco for the next two seasons.
Following Eli Okubo yesterday, Monaco continues to formalize its workforce for the 2022-2023 fiscal year by announcing this time the signing of Jordan Lloyd (1.93 m, 28 years old) for the next two seasons. The 2019 NBA champion with Toronto has been free since leaving Zenit St Petersburg and thus decided to return to serve on the rock where he will find Sasa Obradovic, whom he rubbed against at Red Star Belgrade in 2020-2021. And he spoke on the Monaco website about his strong relationship with the Serbian coach:
“Sasa and I have a special relationship. […] I will always be grateful to Sasa, he trusted me so much, he gave me many chances at Red Star and I told him. We talked from time to time together, took our own news to see if we were okay. He is a very passionate coach, who will get you to work, push you beyond your limits, but constantly encourages you. Thanks to his trust, I was able to surpass myself. Since Belgrade we have always been on the same wavelength. It is ideal if you are trained in these conditions, it just works. So I am very happy to meet him again. This is one of the reasons for my signature. »
With Mike James, Eli Okubo and Jordan Lloyd, Roca’s backline is likely to do very poorly next season, just like the rest of the workforce. Enough to allow Monaco to nurture high ambitions for the next season. The challenge that the American full-back intends to face:
“That’s why I came here. I used to be on teams with high ambitions. And we know that it is possible that these are not empty words. I am ready for this challenge, and this is what makes you love high-level basketball. I am convinced that we can achieve these goals, just like My teammates.”
Monaco 2022-2023 squad at the moment:
- Leaders: Mike James and Jordan Lloyd
- Backs: Eli Okubo and Yakuba Watara
- Wingers: Alpha Diallo and Armel Traoré (?)
- Wingmen: Jaron Blossomgame, Adrien Moerman, Yoan Makoundou
