Forspoken: January 24, 2023
If Final Fantasy 16 is long overdue, Forspoken might be the perfect game to keep you waiting. The premiere game from Luminous Productions, a team that includes several FF VX developers, is a great action-RPG focused on fast and smooth traversal of a sprawling map.
In Forspoken, you play Frey, an ordinary New York woman who suddenly finds herself transported to the exotic land of Athena. Why is she there and why does her title address her? You will soon find out.
Dead Island 2: February 3, 2023
After first being announced in 2014 and then years of development hell, Deep Silver has finally revealed the gameplay of the much-anticipated Dead Island sequel at Gamescom 2022, while also announcing its release date.
In Dead Island 2, players will find themselves downtown Los Angeles infested with zombies, with brutal weapons to craft and heads to blast farther than ever before. After nearly ten years of development, the series’ comeback is long overdue.
Hogwarts Legacy: February 10, 2023
Fans of the Harry Potter universe have been waiting for years for an open world game, and it seems Hogwarts Legacy is finally fulfilling that expectation. In this new game, players will be able to choose their home, learn spells and even collect adorable animals, all while solving the mystery at the heart of the story.
There are also many popular locations to explore, from the bustling Diagon Alley to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry itself. If you’re a gamer who already knows the Patronos, there is no more important game to look forward to in 2023.
Starfield: early 2023
Some games have enjoyed popularity, such as Starfield. Developed at least six years ago, the sci-fi Bethesda saga promises to take the studio’s unique brand of RPG to stardom, in an experience that director Todd Howard describes as “outer space Skyrim.”
There will be around 1,000 planets and moons to explore, full of enemies to slaughter and loot to find and wildlife to discover. It’s arguably Bethesda’s most ambitious project yet, and it’s sure to be one of 2023’s biggest releases when it hits Game Pass.
Final Fantasy XVI : summer 2023
Final Fantasy is one of the most popular series in the video game world, with a legacy of 35 years. And even because of its longevity, a new game always generates a very high level of expectations, so expect Final Fantasy 16 to be a big hit when it arrives.
Square Enix is back to the basics of the franchise this time around, ditching the open-world formula of its predecessor. However, the game will retain the real-time combat that has become the norm in recent years.
Diablo 4: 2023
The announcement of Diablo 4 has greatly pleased fans of the franchise, and for this new opus, Blizzard will not rest on its laurels for our next descent to Hell.
Diablo 4 will launch with approximately 150 dungeons to explore and loot. Character customization will be much deeper than at any time in the history of the series, so you can fully customize your warrior and truly immerse yourself in this dark and stark world.
Suicide Squad: Kill Justice League: 2023
For the fifth installment of the critically acclaimed Batman Arkham series, Rocksteady has decided to shift his focus from the vigilante hero to his gallery of crooks. This time around, players will be able to slip into the boots of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, and can switch between them at will.
The Suicide Squad is tasked with hunting down the traditional heroic Justice League who are under the influence of Brainiac. This game should offer a new perspective to the Arkham universe, as well as the fierce combat that these games are known for.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor: 2023
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is considered by many to be one of the best Star Wars games of all time, so a sequel was almost inevitable. Jedi: Survivor will capture the story of Cal Kestis and the crew of Mantis as they fight for survival against the Empire.
Five years after deciding not to rebuild the Jedi Order, Survivor promises to take Cal and his friends to an even darker area, interacting with some of the most terrifying characters in the galaxy. So we’re looking forward to seeing the familiar faces from George Lucas’ space opera appearing in the next episode.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2: 2023
If the first installment of Breath of the Wild was one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, Breath of the Wild 2 could be the most anticipated game of 2023.
Gamers fell in love with Nintendo’s 2017 remake of the classic franchise, and they’re still making new discoveries to this day. And while we know very little about this part at the moment, we can expect a great new version of Hyrule to explore with more puzzles to solve.
